Sandra has played a vital role for us to choose Vanguard among all the builders in Darwin. She is trustworthy, efficient, reliable and very honest with all her dealings. We have limited design due to our narrow frontage and long block of land. She helped us design what would best work for us within our budget. The construction of our first home started when we were overseas. We didn't have any doubt at all as they keep us updated every now and then. In less than 4 months, our humble abode has been completed with top of the line workmanship. 

There may be hiccups along the way, but Peter and Kylee were very prompt in fixing it. They had been very accommodating with all our requests and variations. We will definitely recommend them among our friends and colleagues. Looking forward to building another home with them.

We have been nothing but impressed with the way Vanguard have gone above and beyond to assist us with building our very first home. From the initial process of going through our customised design with Sandra to going through all the internal features with Jess we couldn’t recommend Vanguard enough. We appreciate Jess’s patience and understanding when it came to going back and forth on colours and tiles. It was always exciting to drive past the house every day to see workers wereon site Monday – Saturday completing some part of the house. 16 weeks ago we settled on our little chunk of land. Yesterday we did our final walk through.

At the start of this process we had very minimal (minimal) savings and nowhere near a 20 or even 10% deposit. As a first homebuyer the NT government makes it relatively easy for young people (first home buyer's) to get into the market as long as they have a solid job and their finances in sorta check. Aside from that we got our pre approval and it was time to choose a builder, after an initial speed bump we landed on Vanguard Homes. They had come highly recommended from about 5 other couples we knew who had all built with them and I can now see why!

Those who know me would know that outdoor entertaining is key for me, I don't care what's going on inside those sliding doors but outside where the beer and bbq live is me, Vanguard listened to my wants and needs and created a unique design that integrated those needs. (There is fittings for 3 TVs outside)

The house is exactly what I wanted and is delivered on-time and on budget!

Tahlia is very specific about her colours and inside "stuff" however Jess made this process a breeze and didn't bog us down with stupid decisions.

We haven't had any unexpected payments required, no oh that's not in your build contact and anything I have asked them to alter or change has been done without question or comment. Sandra closed our deal and delivered exactly what she said they would. Instead of letting me go outside of the covenant potentially by providing my own shed they adjusted the plans to incorporate a storage room. That saved me a headache with the developer (potentially) and also added a good amount of value to the dwelling.

If you're thinking about it, now is the time to do it. Would I build with Vanguard again? Absolutely, Tomorrow.

We've just received the keys to our Vanguard Home and couldn't be happier. The build process was easy, Vanguard were professional and flexible for us throughout. Our house was completed to a very high standard and earlier than initially estimated. The quality of workmanship really shows.

After months of planning, researching and mind changing, I decided to build my first ever home with Vanguard Homes… and I’m glad I did!

When my partner and I first decided to build, we had another builder in mind, but I had this gut instinct to shop around first. So I decided that I would go to the other display home and get ideas and see what other builders could offer. I am so thankful and happy that I had decided to shop around.

When I first stepped into the display home of Vanguard, I was met with the friendly, smiling face of Sandra, who was nothing but helpful and listened to what I wanted. From that moment on, I wasn’t interested in any other builders but Vanguard to build our first home.

After many months of house hunting in the Northern Suburbs and Palmerston, we were discouraged and getting desperate! We just couldn't find the right house at the right price for our family. We decided building was the way to go! However, time was against us when we made that decision, knowing we'd have to vacate our rental in just a few months.

The excitement was overtaken by stress until we crossed path with Vanguard. We fell in love with their display home and they won our trust and business because they were very responsive in the initial contacts and have been throughout the process. We know we have been 'pedantic' customers at times and probably tested their patience but Vanguard staff and owners were always professional and attentive. When we walked into the Vanguard display home we realised that we wanted that exact house with a few modifications but because it was our first home we had no idea where to start and what to do. From the moment we started planning to build a house, the first thing we tried to look in to aside from the available blocks of land our priority is to find a suitable builder. We had met a few along the way but it was Vanguard Homes that stands out. As we all know, we have few bits and pieces that we wanted to have in specifications of our house and would want the least out of the pocket expenses and we're so glad that Vanguard's houses came in as an inclusion to their standard package. Then we met, Peter the owner of Vanguard Homes. Peter is such a welcoming, with brilliant knowledge that takes pride of his work and is a very straight-forward person. He took us to one of his model house and had a run-through with everything. All the specifications of the house, bits & pieces and straight away we knew by heart that we've found the right builder, trust-worthy enough to place our dream house upon his amazing team. We had visited every display home in Zuccoli and from the moment we walked in to the Vanguard display home we were sure that this was the builder we wanted to go with. When we decided to build our first home the hunt for the perfect builder began. From the beginning Sandra from Vanguard Homes stood out from the rest of the other companies taking her time to explain inclusions/ processes etc, promptly answering our every question and worries. Vanguard made it easy to see what we were getting with their detailed inclusion list pamphlet, their standard inclusions stood out from the rest of the pack with high end fixtures and fittings. As we were not living in Darwin while the build was happening they worked around us and made it an easy process, also going out of their way to send progress pictures which we truly appreciated. The build was finished well before completion date. You only have to walk through their display house to see the quality and pride they take in their work. Thank you Vanguard. We have been in our new home for a few weeks now so have had a chance to take everything in and honestly we couldn't be happier.  Like many, we spent several hours looking at different display homes and chatting to builders which was quite overwhelming at times and to be honest I can't say that our final decision was an easy one as for us it’s a huge moment in our lives which means there's a lot to consider.

In the end though vanguard did seem to tick all the boxes, they were extremely pleasant and helpful from the first moment we entered their display home. The rep was very welcoming but not one bit pushy like some of the others, we felt comfortable talking to her, all of our questions were answered as she was very knowledgeable and was able to explain any complicated details that we were confused or lost about.  After we had made our choice vanguard made to whole process very easy.

From choosing the size and shape of our house to choosing the colour on the walls it was an easy, stress free experience. We made several adjustments to our plan and added many features and I can't remember one time when we were told 'no you can't put that there', or 'no we can't do that'.  The team at vanguard seem to truly take pride in making their customers happy. They were very honest and trustworthy throughout the whole process and kept us updated along the way. We always felt we could give them a call if there was something we weren't sure of. All up, the whole team at vanguard were a pleasure to work with.

We had a vision for our new home and rather than push their own ideas, Vanguard were all too happy to bring our vision to life, even helping us change some designs and fittings as we went on, all the while conscious of our budget. They really looked after us every step of the way and were nothing but accommodating of our wishes at each phase of the build. We love our new home and would recommend Vanguard every time.

Like all couples building a new home finding the right builder can be Pot Luck. We did not want to chance luck, so visited a number of Display homes by various Builders. Many were very nice homes. Some hard decisions to make. Then we went to a new Display home in Palmerston, by Vanguard Homes. That was our “Eureka Moment”. The Sales Person was not pushy, but extremely knowledgeable. We could see that the tiling, the rendering, the painting etc. were all done by professionals at the top of their class... Our decision was made.

Then we met the owners, Peter and Kylee, a great couple who took pride in all projects they were involved with. Without doubt we had made the right choice. Our house was totally finished under 5 months and we are loving it. Our advice to any potential home builder is to meet with Peter and Kylee. It will be the best decision you ever make.

It was a big step for my wife and I as we were planning to build our first home, a first home is a big financial investment – you want it done right and you want value. Little did we know it would be an even bigger dilemma to choose our builder! We visited a few display homes and one weekend we visited the Vanguard Homes display house in Zuccoli. We have been quite happy with our choice to build with Vanguard. We chose Vanguard initially due to the higher quality finishes included in the build and are still impressed with the high quality of finishes and workmanship that Vanguard have provided.

As migrants from the UK we were not sure about the process for building a house in Australia but Vanguard made this very easy from start to finish. They guided us through each step of the process, were always on hand if we needed assistance (and still are!) and didn't make promises they couldn't keep. Every person that we have dealt with at Vanguard or who works alongside Vanguard, from the interior designer, the builders, painters, landscaper etc - have all delivered exceptional service. The range of designs is outstanding and they really offer something for every budget. That said, there is always something that you want to modify to personalise the design to suit your lifestyle and with Vanguard that is not an issue as they will work with you to accommodate your requirements.

As for the finishes, we have been so surprised and happy with the quality and added touches that are included. Shadowline ceilings (that other builders wanted to charge us extra for), beautiful bench-tops and appliances and then smaller things like magnetic doorstops, under island lighting, swivel taps over the bathroom basin. All of which give the home a luxury finish.

Vanguard is a family run business who really care about the end product that they deliver to you. Just by talking to Peter and Kylee Kassiou who own the business, you can tell that they are passionate about what they do and that they not only want to deliver you a house, but also a home that you will love for many years to come.

After a thorough search of available builders in Darwin we decided to go with Vanguard. They were highly professional and comprehensive with all information about the build, and what really appealed to us was their flexibility in adapting existing designs to meet our needs.  Best of all there were no hidden costs. 

We were pleased at every stage of the process.  Kylee and Peter were always available to answer any questions we had promptly and to our satisfaction. We chose Vanguard with lots of trepidation 6 months ago. Six months later, we have no hesitation in saying that we made the right choice. It started with Karen's friendly show around and prelude at the display home. In no time, Peter and Kylee sorted out our blues and we were onto it. As they say in their website, there were no surprises. The exchanges were transparent and to the point and the building cost is by no means exorbitant.

The team is well organised (thanks to many of them that we did not meet), they spend time to detail, ensure decisions and choices were made well in advance and there is no last minute scurrying around. I made no prompting at any stage and things moved like clockwork.  I must also mention that they managed to finish the place in 5 months which is amazing.

I would like to thank Vanguard homes for their ongoing support throughout our building process. Kylee and Peter are both professionals and bring with them heaps of knowledge and experience in the building industry along with exceptional customer service. My father is a retired builder, having been a builder in the NT for 37 years and he cannot fault the quality and workmanship that has been delivered in our home. Vanguard use the same contractors for all their homes, some of which my dad speaks very highly of and the quality of their homes speaks for itself.

My Partner and I have built the most non-standard home and have made so many changes along the way, which Vanguard have accommodated. I have had no surprises with Vanguard and nothing has gone wrong throughout our building process, if anything Vanguard have provided above and beyond our expectations. When I bought a piece of land in Muirhead I was too anxious how to build and whom to choose as a builder. I went through the websites of a number of builders, visited several display homes and gathered the information about what they are providing and the type and quality of work they are doing. After analysing all I stuck to one and that was "Vanguard Homes". The information provided in the website was quite organised and clear and that gave me an impression that this is what is required from a builder.

Ms Kylee was the first person whom I contacted and asked to show me their recently built house in Muirhead. She was very prompt, punctual and organised. When I met Peter and Kylee both I decided to go with them. They are highly enthusiastic motivated couple and make a great team. They are ready to help the customer in whatever way they can. Kylee and Peter are exceptional business entrepreneurs and human beings as they understand the customers and are very well versed with their area of expertise. Its been a very smooth ride for me and my husband for our very first home and thats all thanks to these two very wonderful people who went out of their way to make it as easy as possible for us. Nipun and I went to alot of builders as we both like to research before we buy, we both were feeling disappointed as we could not get what we wanted and then we went to Vanguard and met Kylee, and it was like a feeling of relief that at last we found somebody who understood our requirements, was very knowledgeble and was an excellent and honest person. When me and my husband bought a lot, we thought choosing a builder is going to be easy, but it wasn't. We went from one display house to another and we couldn't find the right design that we wanted for our house for the budget that we wanted.

Ben and I shopped around for over 2 months looking at different builder, We found every display home we went into was beautiful and WAY our of our price range.

After a while of looking Ben and I found the Goulburn Design. I gave Kylee a call and was able to get a meeting with her that week. As Ben and I are first time buyers we knew NOTHING about building a home or what was involed. We had our meeting with Kylee and Peter and they went through EVERYTHING with us and explained it all. This took me by surprise as none of the other builders took the time to explain certain things to us. I felt instantly comfortable with Kylee and Peter.

The Building process went so quickly, Our house was finished within 4 months, Once the house was finished Ben and I were completley blown away. We couldn't believe how amazing everything looked and the finishes were amazing.

5 short months ago I was collecting portfolios of builders with my husband, not only looking at house plans but also the manner in which sales staff approached and spoke with myself and my husband.

Whilst our home was being built we continued to review other builders work for inspiration for our own home only to find we had the best in the business! We asked questions about tiling budgets, to receive the same quality (in Vanguard schedule of finishes) 600mm x 600mm porcelain tiles, other builders were requesting a further $6000. To have tiles to the ceiling in the bathrooms again an extra $6000 charge. My husband Aaron and I realised how lucky we were to have chosen builders that put service and quality first.

I cannot thank Peter and Kylee of Vanguard Homes enough for turning and exciting dream on a piece of paper in a reality. Vanguard Homes have been very accommodating on Client’s needs and interests. They are very flexible and welcoming. They even extended their promotion to accommodate my request. I recently engaged Vanguard Homes to add another room with ensuite to my existing home. I found them to be highly professional in dealing with me and my family as we lived around the renovation. They were very accommodating to our needs and Peter and his crew addressed all my issues in a highly professional and timely manner. Now that this renovation was a success and within our budget I am eagerly planning the next renovation for Vanguard Homes to do.

My husband and I employed Vanguard Homes to tile our entire home......they had to remove carpet and old tiles. the finished result was amazing, they were quick, clean and professional..but the best part of their service was that they went the extra mile. In some areas old built in cupboards had to be removed, water damage from leaking shower, Vanguard Homes rang with a quote and then organised the removal and repairs to any walls and shower recesses.... I have to say that I have built several homes over the years but have never dealt with a more professional company.. I would recommend them to anyone...thank you Peter and Kylee for transforming my tired 1980 home....Good luck.

Vanguard Homes recently renovated our 30 year old bathroom and toilet that required care, time and conversation in what to do within a confined space. What we apprecaited was the time spent discussing the colour of tiles for the floor and walls, the layout of the tiles and paint. It all came together beautifully. I would recommend and use Vanguard Homes again as the quality and finish was fantastic....In fact we have thought that if we build a new home in Darwin we would first approach Vanguard Homes.​

We approached Vanguard Homes with a dream in mind about an extension, and renovation to our home, and excavation and building of retaining walls for a larger play area for our children. However, we also had a fixed budget in mind. We are thrilled with the results. Peter worked out a design that would fit out budget, but still fulfill our requirements, and look great. Peter, Kylee and their team, provided friendly professional service. Meetings were arranged promptly and any queries we had along the way were addressed efficiently. We stayed in our home during the process. The contractors were tidy and considerate. Peter personally oversaw all aspects of the project and was onsite daily to liaise with us and check the progress of the project. The project was finished ahead of time. We would certainly use Vanguard for any future project and would have no hesitation in recommend them to anyone looking for a personally customised, quality project.
